Update: NRECA joined with the Partnership for a Better Energy Future to reiterate its support for H.R. 3826, the “Electricity Security and Affordability Act.” As this bill is considered by the House of Representatives, NRECA urges all Members of Congress support for this legislation.
In an industry letter to Chairman Ed Whitfield (R-KY) and Ranking Member Bobby Rush (D-IL), NRECA voiced their support for H.R. 3826, the “Electricity Security and Affordability Act.” This bipartisan legislation ensures an “all-of-the-above” energy strategy by separating regulations for coal and gas fired power plants, prohibiting EPA from mandating technology until it has been deployed by at least six different units, and requiring Congress to review and set a start date for regulations and guidelines for existing power plants. NRECA looks forward to working with Congress on this legislation.
