David Beam, North Carolina Electric Membership Corporation (NCEMC), testified before the House Small Business Subcommittee on Healthcare and Technology. Mr. Beam explained to the committee the complexities of the grid and the financial and human resources that the NCEMC has in place to maintain a culture of compliance with mandatory and enforceable North American Electric Reliability Corporation standards. The need for increased sharing of classified information between the government and utilities to enhance grid protection efforts was also highlighted.
