NRECA International’s project in the small town of Caracol on the north coast of Haiti has been successful in constructing new distribution lines and connecting nearly 400 customers to electricity for the very first time. With the expertise of International staff and almost 30 Foundation volunteers, the system provides service to Caracol and surrounding communities. In early May, Foundation staff member, Molly Uxa traveled to the Caracol Community Electrification Project (CCEP) along with three volunteers from Pennyrile Electric.
Travel to Caracol with Molly via her photo diary and meet Simon Munnik, NRECA International Project Manager, as he invites you to learn more about the incredible impact the project is having on the community and how in the last few months people have “learned to live with electricity and now they can’t live without it!”
